Western Dance

Western Dance classes at Father Agnel, Delhi offer training in styles such as

  1. Classical Ballet (Vaganova)
  2. Contemporary (Cunningham, Graham technique, Floor work, Release technique, Flying low, etc.)
  3. Classical Jazz

The classes are curated to build a strong technique and a deep understanding of each dance style in the student. Apart from technique, we use tools such as ‘improvisation’, ’group and individual rhythm games’, ‘guided research’, ‘movement musicality’, and ‘choreography creation’, that stimulate the independent creative mind of our trainees.

We focus on helping our students find their natural rhythm, style and performing qualities which brings out uniqueness in every student, not just as a dancer but also as a performing individual of any discipline. The students are given opportunities on intra and inter school levels to prepare them for bigger stages as they progress.

Martha Graham puts it beautifully ‘dance is the hidden language of the soul’, and so we are on a quest to help each of our trainees find their very own language and express fearlessly.
