EARTH DAY CELEBRATIONS
Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22 to remind us how important it is to take care of our planet. The Kindergarten at Agnels took part in this special day by organizing fun and educational activities. These activities helped students learn the significance of protecting nature and helping the environment in our daily lives.
To begin with, the children were shown an interactive presentation that focussed on the ways to protect Earth's valuable resources—such as conserving water and energy, reducing plastic use, and preserving natural resources.
The informative and engaging story “10 Things I Can Do to Help My World”, inspired and educated the little ones to various ways they could contribute to protect the Mother Earth.
This story served as the foundation for the “Earth Buddy Project”, where the young Earth buddies along with their parents engaged themselves in eco-friendly activities to save the Earth.
The parents were requested to capture the precious meaningful moments and submit the photographs to the class teacher. These cherished photographs were then used to decorate the class display boards.
The children spent the day creating blue-and-green handprint art to represent Earth, turning the activity into a pledge to look after our planet.
The day’s highlight was the Dry & Wet Waste Management Activity which aimed on teaching the students to distinguish between the dry and wet waste. As a part of the activity the students accurately disposed of the dry and wet waste in the green and blue dustbins.
A key takeaway for the day was the Earth Buddy Headgear which the children coloured themselves. This motivated them to become young protectors of the Earth and bring about positive change.
Through these activities we hope to inspire action and nurture a mindset where each day is viewed as a tribute to the beauty of our planet.
