Visit to the Gurudwara – A Value-Based Learning Experience

Date: 31st October

The students of Class I visited the Gurudwara on 31st October as part of the school’s ongoing efforts to instill value-based learning and spiritual understanding among young learners. Prior to the visit, the children were briefed about the significance of the Gurudwara, the teachings of the Guru Sahib, and the importance of values such as equality, kindness, and respect for all.

At the Gurudwara, the children were guided into prayer and familiarized with the serene environment of devotion and humility. A member of the organising committee addressed the students, sharing the core teachings of Sikhism — that there is only one God, that we should help the needy, and that all human beings are equal as children of God. He also emphasized the importance of respecting elders and teachers, using resources responsibly, and extending support to those in need.

As a gesture of appreciation, the organising committee honoured the teachers with a token of citation for their contribution towards nurturing young minds. The children then offered their prayers with reverence and were served Karah Prasad (Halwa), followed by a simple and wholesome Langar meal.

The visit concluded with an expression of gratitude from the school, which extended an honorarium to the Gurudwara committee as a token of thanks. The experience was enriching and deeply meaningful, leaving the children with valuable lessons on compassion, equality, and community service — the true essence of Guru Sahib’s teachings.
