The Kindergarten section celebrated the warmth and joy of the winter season through an online event titled “Chill & Thrill” on 13th January 2026. The young learners enthusiastically joined the celebration from their homes, all beautifully dressed in winter wear—woollen caps, mufflers, gloves, jackets, and boots—adding colour and cheer to the virtual gathering.
The children were warmly welcomed by Ma’am Asha, who introduced the event and explained the importance of the winter season in a simple and engaging manner. The programme began with a soulful prayer, “Like a Sunflower” led by Ma’am Bethsy. She filled the session with winter cheer as the children joyfully participated as they sang and danced with giggles and wiggles to lively winter songs.
Adding to the excitement, our dear Aunties delighted the children by presenting a fun- filled winter song acting as five snowmen.
The highlight of the event was an inspiring play titled “A Warm Winter Tale,” beautifully dramatized by the K.G. teachers. The play sensitized the children to the values of caring, sharing, and empathy towards fellow human beings and animals, especially the poor and needy during the harsh winter season.
The creativity of the children was showcased during the Art and Game segment – “The Frosty Fun.” The children enjoyed making their own rocking snowmen and enthusiastically participated in the newspaper snowball fight, which brought smiles and excitement to everyone.
The celebration became even more special as it coincided with Lohri, the harvest festival. Ma’am Amar explained the significance of Lohri in an interesting and interactive manner. She showcased a tray filled with Lohri prasad and goodies, and guided the children through a related colouring worksheet.
No festival is complete without dance, and the Lohri celebration was no exception. The K.G. teachers, along with the virtual attendees- children and their families, danced joyfully to foot-tapping Lohri songs. The teachers danced around a symbolic bonfire, recreating the traditional festivities, symbolising gratitude to the Sun God and the beginning of a new year. The children thoroughly enjoyed the celebration and exchanged warm Lohri wishes with great enthusiasm.
The “Chill & Thrill” event was a memorable experience, filled with joy, learning, creativity, and festive cheer, leaving the children with warm hearts and happy smiles despite the winter chill.
