Bal Vatika – 3 / K.G. Academic Orientation
“Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.”
The Academic Orientation Program for the parents of Kindergarten students was conducted with the theme Going for the Goal, emphasizing the shared responsibility of nurturing a child’s holistic development. The session aimed to strengthen the partnership between school and home ensuring a meaningful and enriching learning journey for every child.
The session began with a brief introduction, setting the tone for collaboration and mutual understanding. Parents were given a comprehensive overview of the curriculum including subjects and teaching methodologies. Special emphasis was laid on the development of essential skills such as thinking, questioning, exploration and reasoning, encouraging children to become active learners rather than passive recipients of information. The approach of inquiry-based learning was highlighted, helping parents understand how concepts are explored deeply in the classroom.
The various developmental goals addressed during the session were explained in detail, focusing on the holistic growth of the child, such as- academic, social, emotional and cognitive. Parents were guided on how these goals are integrated into everyday classroom practices and how they can reinforce the same at home through meaningful engagement and quality time.
The academic framework for all subjects was clearly outlined, giving parents clarity about what and how their children will learn throughout the year. General instructions, school guidelines and expectations were also shared to ensure a smooth and structured experience.
Parents were encouraged to actively participate in their child’s learning journey and to support the school by creating a nurturing and stimulating environment at home. The importance of consistency between school and home practices was also emphasized.
To enhance understanding and involvement, parents were engaged in interactive discussions and activities, making the session both informative and engaging. These activities helped them gain insight into the methodologies used in the classroom.
The orientation concluded on a positive note with parents expressing appreciation for the clarity, structure and thoughtful approach of the session. It served as a strong beginning to a collaborative journey, reinforcing the idea that together, parents and teachers can guide children towards achieving their goals.
