HELLO SUNSHINE!
May 15, 2026
With sunshine, smiles, and excitement all around, the children of Balvatika–2 and 3 celebrated the summer season through a variety of fun-filled and engaging activities. The celebration aimed to help the little learners explore and enjoy the beauty of summer through joyful learning experiences.
The celebration began with the Summer Showcase held on May 11, 2026, where children confidently spoke on different summer-related topics, helping to build their communication and presentation skills. Each child was awarded a special badge for enthusiastic participation.
To continue the festive spirit, a special theme day, “Hello Sunshine!” was organised on May 15, 2026, the last working day before the summer holidays. The children looked cheerful in colourful summer outfits, stylish sunglasses, and attractive hats, creating a bright and cheerful atmosphere.
A special assembly was held in the school auditorium where teachers beautifully explained how summers occur through the Earth’s rotation and revolution around the sun. A fun-filled skit, “Gajapati Kulapati Ko Lagi Garmi!” creatively highlighted different ways to stay cool and healthy during summer. Melodious summer songs with Bethsy Ma’am and an energetic dance session conducted by Megha Ma’am and Saurabh Sir added excitement and joy to the celebration.
The children also enjoyed the game “Pass the ball” where they carefully passed colourful balls as “ice-cream scoops” into cones, promoting teamwork, patience, and coordination. During the Sunny and Shady Activity, children explored shadows outdoors and learnt the difference between sunny and shady areas through practical observation. An informative PPT on the summer season and a shadow worksheet further enhanced their learning in an enjoyable way.
Adding sweetness to the day, children relished delicious ice creams with their friends during break time. The memorable celebration concluded with each child taking home a colourful memento — ‘a rocking watermelon’ along with joyful memories of a bright and happy summer day at school.
